Community Arts Workshops

Community arts workshops

Animated Objects Theatre Company are running a number of free drop-in community arts workshops as part of Armed Forces Day National Event.

The first workshop is being held this Saturday 18th January at Woodend, The Crescent, Scarborough. 10:00 -12:00pm , 1:00 3:00pm.

We are making a number of large scale cardboard sculptures representing the forces throughout history that will be going on display around the town in the lead-up and as part of National Armed Forces day on Saturday 27th June 2020.

The first sculpture we will be working on is

‘Young Liberator’ – a 3-metre tall sculpture of a young soldier from 1945, inspired by the Ray Lonsdale sculpture ‘Freddie Gilroy and the Belsen Stragglers’. This statue will be launched to the public in Scarborough on the anniversary of VE Day.
