Whilst still to be finalised there will be various events taking place throughout the week.
Many of the events are being worked on jointly by the Council and Animated Objects who are engaging with all local school children throughout the Borough. The work done with the local schools will be on display through the letter writing and reminiscence projects and also at the Children’s Parade which we are hoping will be televised.
We are also looking to hold concerts at the Open Air Theatre during Armed Forces week and on AFD itself.

Event Details
Residents throughout the Borough of Scarborough are invited to show their respect for the UK Armed Forces by watching the special Armed Forces ‘show your support’ flag being raised during an annual ceremony in Scarborough next week.
The flag flying event, which will take place on Monday 22 June in the Town Hall gardens on St Nicholas Street, will mark the start of the week running up to Armed Forces Day National Event on Saturday 27 June.
The flag will be raised during the ceremony at 10:30 AM, as it will be all over the country, in the presence of the Mayor of the Borough of Scarborough.
Cllr Tony Randerson, Chairman of the Scarborough Armed Forces Day Committee, will lead proceedings with the Mayor. There will be representation from the Services.
