Taylor Wimpey has a long history of successfully developing many trade and site professionals and we now want to employ further talented individuals that have served within our Armed Forces to become our future leaders in site management.
Military Conversion Programme:
We recognise that some of the core behaviours and leadership skills required to be successful in site management are already trained within the military so this is a fantastic opportunity for us to find our site managers of the future.
A structured development path has been created to transition new starters through an intensive programme, whereby you will be equipped with all the technical skills, knowledge, and experience to begin your career in site management. We even throw in a site based qualification as part of the programme! The Production leadership teams will support, mentor and monitor each trainee from a military background on regular basis, providing clear objectives and milestones.
Military Covenant Membership:
We are delighted to have been recognised as a Gold Award holder for the government’s military covenant Employer Recognition Scheme. We actively encourage serving and former servicemen and women, and their families to join our business.
“Working in such a fast-paced multinational environment was incredibly challenging. Media is a diverse role and as a Media Officer for the Navy, you end up being involved in all kinds of different projects, often dealing with challenging and evolving scenarios, while juggling a range of multinational actors. This can be anything from standard press releases, covering foreign VIP visits, to deck hopping from one ship to another in helicopters as part of an exercise. Today, I use many of the skills I acquired in the Navy as part of my day to day job here at Taylor Wimpey”
