TS Scarborough’s association with Armed Forces Day started in 2010 and is a significant date in the units annual calendar.

Last years day was especially significant as it was the units Centenary celebrations this saw us parade as a full ships company at the opening of Armed Forces Day.

At the parade Admiral Robert Cooling CB, guest of honour presented the AFD flag, a certificate of recognition both on vellum and engraved on ‘oak’ testimony to the Unit’s outstanding service and recognition of 100yrs of outstanding service to young people and the community. He also presented a Royal Warrant for the Cadet Forces Commission, approved by Her Majesty The Queen in October 2017 to the Commanding Officer, Slt Natalie Davies, the Executive Officer, Slt Gareth Davies, the Unit Training Officer, Slt Julie Goddard and Unit Pardre, Rev Pam Jennings an immensely proud and memorable day for everyone involved.

Every year we run our Field Gun in front of the crowds every year which the cadets enjoy immensely. It shows off our teamwork and the cadets dedication and competitive spirit, it’s a real crowd pleaser.  Every year the year the day gets bigger and better and the ships company were obviously looking forward to this years as National hosts but will be duly onboard for the Virtual AFD as it’s such an important day for us all!
