Royal British Legion –  Supporting serving and ex-serving personnel all year round

The Royal British Legion has been supporting our Armed Forces Community since 1921 and we will continue to support them for as long as they need us. As the nation’s largest armed forces charity, the RBL provides care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces, past and present, and their families.

Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for us to celebrate and to thank our Armed Forces community for all they do for us – everything from global peace-keeping missions to anti-poaching operations, from helping us all during the pandemic to providing humanitarian relief overseas.

Kate Green, Head of Armed Forces Engagement at the Royal British Legion, said: “We are proud to support this year’s national Armed Forces Day event in Scarborough. Our work supports and celebrates the Armed Forces community 365 days a year, but on Armed Forces Day in particular, it’s important that we thank all those who serve and we are delighted to join the rest of the nation to celebrate their service and sacrifice.”

We have a series of RBL events throughout 2022 where people can support our work, including the Poppy Quest in London in July, the Poppy Trek in the stunning Lake District in August and our series of Poppy Runs all over the country in October. Our programme of events culminates in the Poppy Appeal, the RBL’s biggest fundraising campaign, held every November during the period of Remembrance.
